In May 2007 The Churches Conservation Trust launches Sacred Art: stone and glass – the work of Bodley and Kempe, an exciting new primary learning CD-ROM which uses Victorian churches as a starting point to inspire curriculum-based work in art and design.
Sacred Art will help teachers to make the most of a class visit to a local Victorian church, including the many fine examples in the care of the Trust. Visit www.visitchurches.org.uk to download your free samples, order your own copy (for just £5 inc p&p) and learn more about the Trust’s education programme. Sacred Art was created by the Trust to commemorate George Frederick Bodley and Charles Eamer Kempe, two key figures of the Gothic Revival, on the centenary of their deaths. We are also organising a programme of special events to celebrate this anniversary and raise money to secure the future of the 340 churches in its care. Visit www.visitchurches.org.uk to find out more.
