Caring for God’s Acre aims to inspire and support local communities to care for churchyards and burial grounds in a way which benefits both people and wildlife. Churchyards and old burial grounds are ‘living sanctuaries’ providing a refuge for a rich diversity of plants and animals. They are also important places for archaeology and history, revealing evidence of the past and documenting the lives of people who have lived and worked in a parish. Caring for God's Acre provides keys to unlock the treasures in your churchyard
Caring for God’s Acre offers a range of resources including Advice Sheets for free download, an Action Pack full of useful information, and a range of services including training courses, wildlife surveys, and help with churchyard management plans. Also support for the celebration of Cherishing Churchyard’s Week. June 19th - 27th 2010. More information on the website caringforgodsacre.co.uk |
