Churches Tourism Association

The Herefordshire Churches Tourism Group (HCTG) has been established for ten years and produces a guidance leaflet for churches and leaflets for Tourist Information Centres every two years and have a website: visitherefordshirechurches.co.uk

The new Hereford diocese website has section for visitors at hereford.anglican.org/visitors and a section for churches on how to welcome visitors at welcoming_visitors_and_tourists, so addressing the two audiences in separate areas.

Future plans: developing a Shropshire Churches Tourism Group along the lines of the Herefordshire CTG.  This group works across two Dioceses, Hereford and Lichfield who are working together with Hereford leading as they have the experience. Will be launching a brochure on 11 May 2010. There will a new website, and a range of training experiences will be offered from the chat shop/swap shop to more formal sessions on subjects such as leaflet design etc.
