 A date for your diary: 19-21 November
CTA's 2012 Convention will be held from Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st November at The Hayes, Swanwick, Derbyshire. More details will be published here soon. In the meantime, please mark the dates in your diary and plan to be there!
This Convention is the largest regular gathering of people involved in opening and promoting churches to visitors, sharing insights and innovations on how we tell our stories, improve the quality of the visitor experience, create trails and events, and much more.

The Churches Tourism Association is the UK's leading body for promoting best practice in welcoming visitors to places of worship and developing the tourism potential and visitor experience of a unique part of our historical and contemporary sacred heritage, captured for the future, living in the present, and distinctive to the location of every community across the land.

CTA Symposium 2011
We had a very informative and inspirational day in Gorton Monastery, Manchester on 3rd November: We considered the recently published Cathedrals and Parish Churches report, learned about some remarkable interfaith activities taking place in the North-West, and explored whether church buildings should be independently accredited if they are to present to the public all the essentials which contribute to their identity.

 The objectives of CTA are:
CTA is a charitable body of churches, individuals, corporate and statutory bodies who are dedicated to enhancing the experience of those who visit churches by:
-
encouraging the sharing of good practice
-
providing appropriate resources to assist members in their work
-
assisting the development of partnerships at national, regional and local level.
All members have a legal say in the way the Association develops and its priorities for the future. The more members we have the greater the weight the Association will have to encourage government and local authorities to understand the significance of our work. |
